  • Incoming 5th Grade: Read At First Sight and The Black Stallion.  For each book, write or type a 2-page book report (students are to turn in 2 reports).  The book report must describe the story line, name two problems with the story line and how the problems are fixed.  For each report discuss one main character in the story and tell something about him/her (example: honest, stubborn, etc.)  Include a drawing of any part of the book and a cover page with your name and the title of the book.  Each report will be worth 100 points for a total of 200 points.
  • Incoming 6th Grade: Complete the reading journal for The Egypt Game.  Once that is done, create and color 12 portraits of any hero, god or monster mentioned in Heores, Gods and Monsters of the Greek Myths.  Create an illustration that depicts their story.  Write a brief summary of this story on the back of your portrait.  Collect all 12 portraits into a book and design the book cover.  For extra credit, create more than 12 portraits and typye your summaries.
